THE TRUE MEANING OF LOVE

To love another is to love thy imperfect self without restraint.

Love is a passionate and tender feeling towards someone.

A feeling that makes one want to put a smile on another’s face at all cost.

A feeling compared to a rose flower; as beautiful as it is hurtful.

Bitter is a heart that has never felt it.

Yet, there’s more to love than just being affectionate.

To love means to learn, overlook, vet and encourage.

How well do you know yourself ?

How do you master your attributes and insecurities?

Are you hard on yourself?

Can you forgive yourself?

Can you attest to the fact that there are things you cannot change?

How readily do you pick yourself up after a fall?

If you can answer all these questions about yourself correctly, then you can start the journey of love.

As clearly stated in the beginning; you have to love yourself first to be able to love another person. Loving comes with a lot of sacrifices.

Remember to give yourself the love you feel others deserve.

Be your first bet.

You cannot readily sacrifice for someone when you can’t do that for yourself; that’s selfish.

To love another person you must be able to know them, overlook their silly behaviours, forgive them, know that there are things about them you cannot change and you must be able to be the shoulder they never had. If you can do this for yourself, then you can do it for your partner.

A lot of people feel love is all rosy and forget the fact that love is tested and trusted in difficult times.

To love is to journey together in delight and dolour.
